Privacy policy
This policy covers nighthawk.io. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, ask and we will fix the wording.
The practice behind this site is Nighthawk, LLC, referred to below as Nighthawk, we, or us.
What we collect
If you use the contact form, we receive the name, work email, company and message you type. Company is optional. The other three are not, because a note we can't reply to isn't useful to either of us.
Our server also records the IP address your request came from and the country Cloudflare associates with it, and puts both in the email we receive. That is there so we can recognize abuse of the form. It is not used to identify you or to work out anything else about you.
The form has a hidden field called website. It is a spam trap. You will never see it, and anything submitted in it is discarded on the server without being read or sent anywhere.
That is the complete list. There is nothing else.
What we don't collect
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising network, no session recording, no fingerprinting, and nothing written to your browser's storage. We don't build profiles of visitors, and we can't tell you apart from anyone else who reads a page and leaves.
We don't sell, rent, or share what you send us. Sending the form doesn't put you on a mailing list, and it doesn't start an automated sequence. Your note goes to a mailbox a person reads.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts this site and carries every request to it. They see what any network provider sees. On the contact page they also run Turnstile, the check that tells a person from a bot, which reports back to us only whether you passed.
- Resend delivers the email the form generates. Everything in your note passes through them, along with your IP and country.
- Google Workspace runs the mailbox that receives it.
Each of these is a service we use to run the site, not a party we share data with for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
Inquiries live in a mailbox. We keep one as long as there's a reason to, which for a conversation that goes nowhere is about a year. If we end up working together, the engagement agreement governs what happens to your information, not this page.
Your rights
Ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@nighthawk.io and say which. We will not ask you to justify the request.
If you're covered by a law that grants you specific rights, the GDPR in the EU, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA in California among them, those rights apply and we'll honor them. We don't sell personal information, so there's nothing for you to opt out of on that front.
Children
This is a business site. It isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. A site this small doesn't need a version history, and we won't pretend otherwise.
