Terms of service
These terms cover your use of nighthawk.io. Using the site means you accept them. If you don't, don't use the site.
The practice behind this site is Nighthawk, LLC, referred to below as Nighthawk, we, or us.
This page does not cover client work
Read this first, because it's the part people get wrong. If we work together, that engagement is governed by a separate written agreement signed by both of us. That agreement controls scope, fees, confidentiality, liability, and everything else that matters. Nothing on this website changes it, adds to it, or forms any part of it.
Nothing on this site is an offer to perform work, and sending the contact form doesn't create a client relationship or any obligation on either side.
What's on the site isn't advice
The pages here describe how we work and what we think. They're general information. They are not security advice, legal advice, or compliance advice for your situation, and they're not a substitute for someone looking at your actual environment. Don't act on them as though we'd assessed your company, because we haven't.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the contact form to send spam, malware, or anything unlawful.
- Attempt to gain access to any part of the site or its infrastructure you haven't been given access to.
- Scan, probe, or test the site for vulnerabilities without our written permission. We do security work for a living and we take an interest in this one.
- Scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for anyone else.
- Copy the content and present it as your own.
If you think you've found a security issue here, tell us at hello@nighthawk.io. We would rather hear it than not.
Content and marks
The text, design, and the mark on this site belong to us. You can quote a reasonable extract with attribution and a link. You can't republish a page wholesale, and you can't use the name or the mark in a way that suggests we endorse you or work with you.
Availability
The site is provided as it is. We don't promise it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, and we may change or remove any of it without notice. We are not responsible for services this site links to.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of this website, and our total liability connected to the website is limited to one hundred US dollars. This limit applies to the website only. Liability for client work is set by the engagement agreement, which is a different document with different numbers in it.
Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do, and the version on this page at the time you use the site is the one that applies.
